Pleated skirts are a neat feature of Daisy's wardrobe, recurring in the skirts for Wrapup and In the Pink, and in a variation on this ensemble called Milk Shake, which combines a pale pink skirt and dotted scarf. Daisy's not sure she's wearing Neat Pleats correctly. The scarf is sewn to the back of the long skirt, such that the criss cross arrangement is the only way to make her decent.
